The original clone was propagated and spread throughout UK cannabis culture.

Exodus Cheese is the original Cheese phenotype clone, associated with the Exodus collective in the UK. For years, UK Cheese existed only as a clone (not from seed), propagated from the original Exodus phenotype. Big Buddha Seeds eventually created stable seed genetics (Big Buddha Cheese, by crossing the Exodus Cheese with Afghani), making the Cheese aromatic character accessible through seeds rather than requiring the original clone.
