Strawberry Cough

Strawberry Cough's exact genetics are somewhat mysterious, but most accounts trace it to Kyle Kushman (prominent cannabis cultivator and author) who received a cutting from a grower who found it growing in a strawberry patch in Connecticut. The original genetics are believed to combine Strawberry Fields (a sativa) with a Haze-lineage parent. The 'Cough' name comes from the smooth strawberry-sweet smoke expanding in the lungs, typically causing coughing even in experienced consumers — a counterintuitive quality that became a defining characteristic.

Yes — Strawberry Cough is one of the most frequently recommended strains for anxiety management and social anxiety specifically. Unlike some sativas that can exacerbate anxiety through over-stimulation, Strawberry Cough's particular terpene-cannabinoid profile produces a pleasant, anxiety-reducing euphoria that is socially engaging without racing-thoughts intensity. Medical cannabis patients and dispensaries consistently recommend it for anxiety, depression, and social anxiety disorder.

Strawberry Cough typically produces buds with vivid orange and red hairs that give the flowers a distinctly strawberry-like appearance alongside the sweet fruity aroma. Dense, well-formed sativa buds with good trichome coverage characterise quality Strawberry Cough, though buds can be smaller than indica-dominant varieties due to sativa bud structure.
