Bubble Hash

Bubble hash is produced without chemical solvents — cold water and ice mechanically separate trichome heads from the cannabis plant, which are then collected through mesh bags of varying micron sizes (each size capturing different trichome head sizes) and dried. Unlike BHO (butane hash oil), rosin, or CO2 extracts, bubble hash involves only water and mechanical separation. This produces a concentrate that is free from solvent residue, preserving the full natural terpene and cannabinoid profile of the source material.

Traditionally, hash quality was assessed by heating a small piece — high-quality hash (full-melt or near-full-melt) bubbles and melts when a flame is applied, indicating high trichome-head content with minimal plant material contamination. Hash that burns without bubbling has more plant matter. Bubble hash (named for this test) represents the category where the extraction quality is high enough to reliably pass the bubble melt test.

Bubble hash can be consumed multiple ways depending on its melt quality: full-melt bubble hash can be dabbed directly in a dab rig or vaporiser; partial-melt hash is best crumbled into flower bowls or sprinkled on top of joints; all bubble hash can be pressed with heat and pressure into rosin. Vaporisation at lower temperatures (below 220°C) best preserves the terpene character and provides the most complete flavour experience.
