Blueberry

DJ Short spent decades in the 1970s through 1990s experimenting with Thai, Afghan, and other landrace strains to produce cannabis with authentic fruit flavours — before this was common. Blueberry emerged as his greatest achievement: an indica with genuine, recognisable blueberry sweetness from a precise terpene combination (myrcene, ocimene, and others) rather than artificial flavouring. The 2000 High Times Cannabis Cup victory for Best Indica confirmed what the cannabis community already knew — Blueberry's flavour-focused breeding had produced something genuinely exceptional.

Blueberry traces its origins to DJ Short's work with Purple Thai (a Thai landrace strain selected for flavour) and Thai strains, crossed with Afghan genetics. The precise recipe remains somewhat proprietary to DJ Short, whose decades of phenotype selection produced the specific terpene combination that makes Blueberry authentic. The strain has spawned hundreds of descendants — Blue Dream, Blue Cheese, Blueberry Kush, Berry White, Blue Haze — that share the authentic blueberry terpene character.

Blueberry's 80% indica character makes it an evening and nighttime strain. The relaxing, physically easing, mood-lifting effects build gradually into sleepy comfort — making it excellent for pain management, insomnia, stress relief, and appetite stimulation before dinner. The authentic blueberry aroma makes consumption particularly pleasant and the relaxed euphoria is deeply satisfying for evening unwinding.
